Home / Fix a Problem / Something Looks Broken / Form submission end-to-end testing

A form can look completely correct, display every field properly, and still fail silently at submission — an email notification not sending, a validation rule blocking legitimate input, a redirect after submit going nowhere — and none of that shows up just by looking at the form, only by actually submitting it and following the data all the way through. This is exactly the kind of failure that can persist for weeks or months without anyone noticing, since the form itself looks perfectly normal to every visitor who fills it out, and the only sign anything is wrong is an absence — leads that should be arriving but simply aren’t.

Why looking at the form itself won’t reveal this

A form’s appearance gives no indication of whether a submission actually arrives anywhere afterward, which is exactly the gap no amount of visual inspection can close on its own.

If you already suspect one specific form is failing, mentioning it lets us confirm and prioritise that one directly, alongside the broader sweep across the rest.

It’s also worth considering whether any form has changed recently — a plugin update, a new field added, a different email address configured — since a recent change is often exactly where a silent failure originates. Comparing the form’s current configuration against what you remember from before that change, even roughly, can be a genuinely useful clue to bring into the conversation. It rarely solves the problem outright, but it does narrow where we start looking first. A quick look at the form’s settings screen, if you have admin access, sometimes reveals the same clue even faster.

QAT-004

Form submission end-to-end testing

Every form on your site tested end-to-end — submission, validation, and where the data actually ends up — not just confirmed to display.

Why this costs $49. An hour of a capable WordPress developer’s time runs about $82 in the UK, $100 in the US and $105 in the Gulf, and for anything urgent a two-hour minimum is normal. This is $49 for up to 45 minutes of hands-on work, with a full backup taken before we start. 2026 market rates.

What we need from you

  • Which forms are in scope, or confirmation you want every form on the site tested
  • Where each form’s submission is meant to go — an email address, a CRM, a spreadsheet
  • Whether you want issues fixed as found, or a full report before any changes

This or something else?

You want every form on the site tested end-to-end for genuine delivery This fix covers it
You already know a specific form fails and want it fixed, not tested A targeted form-repair fix, not this broader test
You want checkout specifically tested, not general contact or lead forms Checkout test transaction walkthrough, a different service
You want login and registration forms tested specifically Login & registration flow testing, a different service
The concern is spam submissions, not delivery failure A different, spam-filtering service

What we do

  1. Identify every form on the site, or the specific ones in scope
  2. Submit real test entries through each one and follow the data to its destination
  3. Check validation rules for both correctly rejecting bad input and accepting valid input
  4. Confirm notification emails, CRM entries, or other destinations actually receive submissions
  5. Document any failure found, with the specific form and step where it broke
  6. Fix a broken notification address or validation rule directly where the cause is clear-cut, and flag anything touching the form plugin’s own configuration for your sign-off first

What is included

  • End-to-end testing of the specified forms, submission through delivery
  • Validation rules checked for both false rejections and false acceptances
  • Straightforward, low-risk issues fixed directly
  • A written report covering findings, fixes made, and anything needing a decision

Not included

  • Building new forms or fields, as distinct from testing what already exists
  • Fixing a third-party form plugin’s own underlying bugs beyond a safe correction
  • Ongoing testing as you add new forms in future
  • Spam filtering, which is a separate, distinct service

Questions about this fix

How do I know which of my forms actually need testing?

If you're not sure, we test everything in scope by default — you don't need to have already narrowed it down before ordering.

Will test submissions show up as real leads in my CRM?

We flag test entries clearly and can remove them afterward if you'd rather your records stay clean, just let us know your preference.

What if a form has been silently failing for a while?

That's exactly the scenario this test is built to catch — we'll tell you plainly how long it looks to have been broken based on what evidence is available.

Does this include forms embedded from a third-party service, not built natively?

Yes, if it's on your site and visitors interact with it, we test it the same way regardless of what's powering it underneath.

Will you tell me how many leads I might have lost?

Only if there's a way to estimate that from available data — we won't guess a number we can't actually support with evidence.

Your access, your rules

Create a separate admin account for us and delete it when we are done. For anything else, we get in touch and agree a method — never a form field on this site, never by reply to an email.

We back up first, always

Before anything is touched we take a full backup and keep it for 30 days. If a fix goes wrong, we put the site back exactly as it was.

If it is not what you bought

If the problem turns out smaller than what you ordered, we refund the difference. If it is bigger, we stop and send a quote before doing any extra work.

If we cannot fix it

You get back what we received. Diagnosis is on us — you only pay when the problem is actually solved. The payment processor takes its fee before the money reaches us, so we never hold it and it is not ours to return. That is true here as everywhere else.

If it comes back

Reply within seven days of delivery and we put it back on the bench at no cost. The fix is not finished until it holds.

What we are responsible for

If something goes wrong with a fix, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for it. We take a full backup first so mistakes can be undone, and we tell you before doing anything outside what you bought.
