Merchant Center requires verifying you own the website before it will let you list products under that domain, and claiming the URL separately confirms you’re authorized to run ads and free listings for it — skipping either step, or doing them in the wrong order, is one of the more common reasons an otherwise-correct product feed never actually gets accepted.
Google Merchant Center account setup & site verification
A Merchant Center account properly verified and claimed, so your feed has somewhere to land.
- Full backup taken before we start
- If we can’t fix it, you get your money back
- We never ask for your own password
What we need from you
- A Google account to use for Merchant Center, or confirmation of an existing one
- Website access sufficient to add a verification file or meta tag
- Confirmation of every country and language you intend to sell to
This or something else?
| You need a Merchant Center account created and verified for the first time | This fix covers it |
| Your account exists but shows a suspension | Merchant Center account suspension – technical remediation |
| You have an account and need your product feed connected | Feed plugin configuration & mapping, or a specific feed-issue fix |
| You want your products in Meta’s shop, not Google | Meta commerce catalog sync & error fix, the equivalent for that platform |
What we do
- Create the Merchant Center account, or configure your existing one
- Verify website ownership through the appropriate method for your setup
- Claim the URL to confirm authorization to serve ads and listings for it
- Configure basic account settings (business information, shipping, tax defaults)
- Confirm verification and claiming both show as successful in Merchant Center
- Set you up to move on to feed submission
What is included
- A verified and claimed Merchant Center account
- Basic account settings configured correctly
- Confirmed verification status, checked directly in Merchant Center
- A written note on what’s set up and what comes next (feed submission)
Not included
- Product feed creation or submission itself, a separate fix
- Setting up Google Ads campaigns using this Merchant Center account
- Ongoing account management as a standing service
- Resolving an existing account suspension, if one already exists
Questions about this fix
How long does verification actually take?
Usually minutes once the verification method (file upload or meta tag) is correctly in place, though Google's own processing can occasionally take a bit longer.
Can I have more than one person with access to the account?
Yes, and it's worth setting up properly from the start — we can add you with full access and anyone else you specify at an appropriate permission level.
Do I need a separate account for each country I sell to?
No, one Merchant Center account typically covers multiple countries and languages, configured within the same account rather than needing separate ones.
What happens if I already tried to verify and it failed?
We check what specifically went wrong — often it's a verification file placed at the wrong location, or a meta tag not quite matching what Google expects, both straightforward to correct.
Is this the same as setting up Google Shopping ads?
This is the prerequisite step — Merchant Center holds your product data that Shopping ads and free listings both draw from, but running the ads themselves is a separate, later step.

If this is the second time this year
A bad update breaking the site is a symptom of updates not being tested first. Care plans run every update on a staging clone before it reaches your live site, which is the actual fix for this happening again.
Your access, your rules
Create a separate admin account for us and delete it when we are done. For anything else, we get in touch and agree a method — never a form field on this site, never by reply to an email.
We back up first, always
Before anything is touched we take a full backup and keep it for 30 days. If a fix goes wrong, we put the site back exactly as it was.
If it is not what you bought
If the problem turns out smaller than what you ordered, we refund the difference. If it is bigger, we stop and send a quote before doing any extra work.
If we cannot fix it
You get back what we received. Diagnosis is on us — you only pay when the problem is actually solved. The payment processor takes its fee before the money reaches us, so we never hold it and it is not ours to return. That is true here as everywhere else.
If it comes back
Reply within seven days of delivery and we put it back on the bench at no cost. The fix is not finished until it holds.
What we are responsible for
If something goes wrong with a fix, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for it. We take a full backup first so mistakes can be undone, and we tell you before doing anything outside what you bought.
