Home / Ongoing Work / Hosting & Infrastructure / Automated health check report configuration

We configure an automated health check report — covering uptime, security status, performance, and update status together in one regular summary — and since this generates and delivers on an ongoing schedule after we leave, the same ownership consideration applies as any scheduled automation: someone needs to notice if the report simply stops arriving.

An absent report is easy to miss, just like any scheduled automation failure

A health check report that quietly stops generating produces no error, just an empty inbox where a regular summary used to arrive — genuinely easy to overlook until enough time has passed that you’re no longer sure when it actually stopped. We’ll build in delivery confirmation where feasible and document how to check, but noticing an absence over time is a habit that needs to stay with you.

Automated health check report configuration

A combined health check report on schedule — with the same warning about an absent report.

  • Full backup taken before we start
  • If we can’t fix it, you get your money back
  • We never ask for your own password

What we need from you

  • Access to whatever data sources the health check should draw from (hosting, security, performance)
  • Confirmation of your desired report schedule and format
  • Confirmation of who should receive it

This or something else?

You want an automated, recurring health check report covering multiple aspects of your site together This fix covers it
You want a one-time diagnostic report on a specific aspect, not an ongoing combined summary The relevant specific report instead, depending on what you need checked
You want a scheduled report on a completely different, unrelated topic Scheduled report generation setup, in the Integrations & Automation bucket, the general-purpose version
Your existing health check report has stopped arriving Worth describing the specific situation directly — likely a diagnostic fix rather than a fresh setup

What we do

  1. Confirm which aspects of site health should be covered and the report’s schedule
  2. Build the automated generation and delivery process
  3. Configure delivery confirmation where technically feasible
  4. Test the report’s first scheduled generation and delivery
  5. Verify the content is accurate and genuinely useful, not just data for its own sake
  6. Provide written documentation covering ownership and what to do if it stops arriving

What is included

  • An automated health check report generating and delivering on your specified schedule
  • Delivery confirmation configured where feasible
  • Verified accurate, useful first delivery
  • Written documentation on ownership and failure signs

Not included

  • Ongoing, indefinite monitoring of continued delivery by us — that responsibility transfers to you
  • Fixing any issue the report surfaces — a separate, related fix each time
  • Fixing the report if an underlying data source changes its structure in future, unless engaged separately at that time
  • Guaranteeing indefinite compatibility as your site or hosting environment evolves

Questions about this fix

How would I notice if this report simply stopped arriving?

This is genuinely one of the easier automation failures to miss, since nothing produces an error, just an absent email — we document a specific way to periodically confirm it's still running, and building that check into someone's routine matters more than it might initially seem.

What's actually included in a typical health check like this?

Commonly a combination of uptime status, security-relevant findings, performance indicators, and pending updates — we'd confirm exactly which aspects matter most to you rather than assuming a fixed, universal template.

Will this fix issues it finds automatically?

No, this generates and delivers a report; addressing whatever it surfaces is a separate, related fix each time something genuinely needs attention.

Is this different from getting several individual monitoring setups instead?

This combines multiple aspects into one regular, digestible summary, which some people prefer over checking several separate monitoring dashboards individually — the underlying data sources can be similar either way.

Who is responsible for reading and acting on this report once it arrives?

Your team — this fix builds and delivers the report reliably, but reviewing its contents and deciding what needs attention is an ongoing responsibility that isn't included as a standing service.

If this is the second time this year

A bad update breaking the site is a symptom of updates not being tested first. Care plans run every update on a staging clone before it reaches your live site, which is the actual fix for this happening again.

Your access, your rules

Create a separate admin account for us and delete it when we are done. For anything else, we get in touch and agree a method — never a form field on this site, never by reply to an email.

We back up first, always

Before anything is touched we take a full backup and keep it for 30 days. If a fix goes wrong, we put the site back exactly as it was.

If it is not what you bought

If the problem turns out smaller than what you ordered, we refund the difference. If it is bigger, we stop and send a quote before doing any extra work.

If we cannot fix it

You get back what we received. Diagnosis is on us — you only pay when the problem is actually solved. The payment processor takes its fee before the money reaches us, so we never hold it and it is not ours to return. That is true here as everywhere else.

If it comes back

Reply within seven days of delivery and we put it back on the bench at no cost. The fix is not finished until it holds.

What we are responsible for

If something goes wrong with a fix, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for it. We take a full backup first so mistakes can be undone, and we tell you before doing anything outside what you bought.
