We synchronise user roles and capabilities across your multisite network, correcting the common situation where a user has different access levels on different subsites than intended, or where a role change on one subsite doesn’t propagate to others the way you’d expect.
User role sync across network
User roles corrected to match across subsites, not left to drift by whoever added someone last.
- Full backup taken before we start
- If we can’t fix it, you get your money back
- We never ask for your own password
What we need from you
- Access to your network admin dashboard
- A clear picture of which users should have which roles across which subsites
- Confirmation of whether this should be a one-time correction or an ongoing policy going forward
This or something else?
| You want user roles corrected or synchronised consistently across your multisite network | This fix covers it |
| You want network-wide plugin and theme management configured, a different kind of network consistency | Network-wide plugin & theme management |
| A specific user can’t access a subsite at all, not a broader role inconsistency | Worth describing the specific access issue directly — likely a more targeted diagnostic fix |
| You’re setting up user roles for the first time on a new network | Multisite network setup & configuration, if that’s genuinely your starting point |
What we do
- Review current role assignments across the network for each relevant user
- Confirm with you the intended, correct role structure
- Correct role assignments to match across subsites as specified
- Verify each user’s access reflects the intended structure
- Document the corrected structure for future reference
- Recommend a process for keeping roles consistent going forward, if this has been a recurring issue
What is included
- User roles corrected and synchronised across your network as specified
- Verified access matching the intended structure
- A written record of the corrected structure
- A recommendation for maintaining consistency going forward
Not included
- Ongoing enforcement of role consistency as new users are added — a process recommendation is included, but active, ongoing management isn’t
- Broader network plugin or theme management, a separate, related fix
- Creating new custom roles themselves, a separate, related fix if needed
- Fixing an individual, isolated access issue unrelated to broader role consistency
Questions about this fix
Why would a user's role differ across subsites in the first place?
Multisite roles are typically assigned per subsite rather than networkwide by default, so unless someone deliberately keeps them consistent, a user added to different subsites at different times or by different administrators can easily end up with mismatched access levels.
Can one person have a different role on each subsite, if that's actually intentional?
Yes, that's entirely valid if it reflects genuine, deliberate differences in what that person should be able to do on each specific subsite — this fix corrects unintended inconsistency, not variation you actually want.
Will this affect users who aren't part of the inconsistency I've noticed?
We focus specifically on the users and roles you flag as needing correction, rather than making broad changes to accounts that are already correctly configured.
How do I keep this consistent going forward without needing this fix repeated?
We can recommend a process (like a checklist for adding new users, or a periodic review) suited to your team's actual workflow, though maintaining that ongoing discipline is something your team would carry forward.
Is this urgent, or can it wait?
Depends on the actual impact — if someone has more access than they should on a sensitive subsite, that's worth prioritising; a more benign inconsistency (someone missing a convenience-level permission) is less urgent.

If this is the second time this year
A bad update breaking the site is a symptom of updates not being tested first. Care plans run every update on a staging clone before it reaches your live site, which is the actual fix for this happening again.
Your access, your rules
Create a separate admin account for us and delete it when we are done. For anything else, we get in touch and agree a method — never a form field on this site, never by reply to an email.
We back up first, always
Before anything is touched we take a full backup and keep it for 30 days. If a fix goes wrong, we put the site back exactly as it was.
If it is not what you bought
If the problem turns out smaller than what you ordered, we refund the difference. If it is bigger, we stop and send a quote before doing any extra work.
If we cannot fix it
You get back what we received. Diagnosis is on us — you only pay when the problem is actually solved. The payment processor takes its fee before the money reaches us, so we never hold it and it is not ours to return. That is true here as everywhere else.
If it comes back
Reply within seven days of delivery and we put it back on the bench at no cost. The fix is not finished until it holds.
What we are responsible for
If something goes wrong with a fix, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for it. We take a full backup first so mistakes can be undone, and we tell you before doing anything outside what you bought.
