A privacy policy that exists as a page on your site but isn’t actually linked from your registration form, checkout, or footer in the places regulations expect it to be doesn’t do much practical good — the content matters, but so does making sure visitors can actually find and were shown it at the relevant moments.
Privacy policy page technical linkage
Your privacy policy linked everywhere it's actually expected, not just sitting on its own page.
- Full backup taken before we start
- If we can’t fix it, you get your money back
- We never ask for your own password
What we need from you
- The URL of your existing privacy policy page, or its content if it needs creating first
- Confirmation of every form or checkout flow where a link should appear
- Whether you want a simple footer link only, or explicit acknowledgment required at signup and checkout
This or something else?
| Your privacy policy exists but isn’t properly linked where it should be | This fix covers it |
| You don’t have a privacy policy written yet at all | A different, content-drafting task — we can point you toward that separately |
| You want explicit acceptance logged at checkout, not just a visible link | Terms acceptance logging at checkout, a related but distinct fix |
| You want your cookie consent banner linked to your policy specifically | Can be included as part of this fix if that link is currently missing |
What we do
- Identify every location where a privacy policy link is expected (footer, registration, checkout)
- Add or correct links at each identified location
- Ensure the link is clearly visible, not buried or easily missed
- Confirm the policy page itself loads correctly from every link
- Check for consistency, so the same, current policy is linked everywhere rather than an outdated version somewhere
- Verify on both desktop and mobile that links are accessible
What is included
- Privacy policy correctly linked from every relevant location
- Consistency verified across the site
- Confirmation of accessibility on both desktop and mobile
- A written note on where links were added or corrected
Not included
- Writing or reviewing the actual privacy policy content itself
- Explicit consent logging at checkout, a separate, related fix
- Cookie consent banner implementation, a separate, related fix
- Legal review of whether your policy content meets specific regulatory requirements
Questions about this fix
Do you write the privacy policy content itself?
No, this fix covers technical linkage and placement, not drafting the legal content — we can point you toward resources or a suitable professional if the policy itself still needs writing.
Where exactly should a privacy policy link normally appear?
Commonly the site footer, registration and login forms, and checkout — the specific expected locations can vary somewhat by which regulations apply to your visitors.
What if I update my privacy policy later — do the links need updating too?
If the policy stays at the same URL, existing links continue working automatically; if you move it to a new page, that's worth flagging so links are updated to match.
Is a footer link enough, or do I need something more prominent?
Requirements vary by region and context — a footer link is standard practice, though certain moments (like account creation) sometimes warrant a more explicit, harder-to-miss placement.
Will this fix also handle terms of service links, or just privacy policy?
We can include terms of service links in the same pass if you'd like, though the core scope here is specifically the privacy policy — worth mentioning both if you want them handled together.

If this is the second time this year
A bad update breaking the site is a symptom of updates not being tested first. Care plans run every update on a staging clone before it reaches your live site, which is the actual fix for this happening again.
Your access, your rules
Create a separate admin account for us and delete it when we are done. For anything else, we get in touch and agree a method — never a form field on this site, never by reply to an email.
We back up first, always
Before anything is touched we take a full backup and keep it for 30 days. If a fix goes wrong, we put the site back exactly as it was.
If it is not what you bought
If the problem turns out smaller than what you ordered, we refund the difference. If it is bigger, we stop and send a quote before doing any extra work.
If we cannot fix it
You get back what we received. Diagnosis is on us — you only pay when the problem is actually solved. The payment processor takes its fee before the money reaches us, so we never hold it and it is not ours to return. That is true here as everywhere else.
If it comes back
Reply within seven days of delivery and we put it back on the bench at no cost. The fix is not finished until it holds.
What we are responsible for
If something goes wrong with a fix, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for it. We take a full backup first so mistakes can be undone, and we tell you before doing anything outside what you bought.
