Composite or bundled product errors — the total price not calculating correctly, a component not being available for selection, the bundle not adding correctly to the cart — usually trace to a plugin conflict, a misconfigured component rule, or a stock issue with one of the bundled items.

This or something else?

A composite or bundled product isn’t calculating its price, availability, or cart behaviour correctly This fix covers it
The issue is optional add-on fields on a single product, not a genuine bundle of separate products Product configurator & add-on field errors
You want a bundle or composite product set up for the first time Worth discussing directly — likely a larger, dedicated setup rather than a repair
A component within the bundle has a stock discrepancy, not the bundle logic itself Stock sync & inventory discrepancy fix

What you are seeing

  • The bundle’s total price not matching the sum or discount intended
  • A component product not available for selection despite being in stock
  • The bundle failing to add correctly to the cart
  • The issue possibly affecting only certain bundle configurations

Common causes

  • A plugin conflict between the bundle plugin and the theme or another extension
  • A misconfigured pricing or discount rule for the bundle
  • A stock status issue with one of the individual bundled components
  • A plugin update changing how bundle logic calculates or displays
  • A component product’s own price change not propagating correctly into the bundle’s total calculation

What we do

  1. Reproduce the specific bundle or composite product error
  2. Identify whether the cause is a conflict, configuration, or component stock issue
  3. Correct the identified cause
  4. Verify a test order with the bundle calculates and adds to cart correctly
  5. Check other bundles for the same underlying issue

What is included

  • The composite or bundle product issue identified and corrected
  • A verified, correctly functioning test order
  • A check across other bundles for the same issue
  • The pre-fix backup, kept for 30 days

Not included

  • Setting up a new bundle or composite product from scratch — a separate, larger fix
  • Optional add-on field issues on a single product — a separate, related fix
  • A component’s underlying stock discrepancy, if that’s the true root cause — a separate, related fix
  • Ongoing monitoring for future bundle issues

Questions about this fix

Why would a bundle fail if all its components are individually in stock?

The bundle logic itself can have its own configuration separate from each component's stock status — a misconfigured availability rule can block a bundle even when every part is technically available.

Will this affect bundles that are currently working correctly?

No, we target the identified issue specifically — bundles functioning correctly are unaffected.

Is this the same as an add-on field error?

No — add-on fields are optional extras on a single product; a composite or bundle genuinely combines separate products together, which involves different underlying logic.

Would an update to an unrelated plugin really affect a bundle like this?

Yes, if that plugin also touches cart or pricing logic — a conflict doesn't require the two plugins to be obviously related for one to break the other's expected behaviour.

Is this urgent if customers can't complete a bundled purchase?

Yes, worth prioritising if this is preventing customers from completing an order they're trying to make.

Your access, your rules

Create a separate admin account for us and delete it when we are done. For anything else, we get in touch and agree a method — never a form field on this site, never by reply to an email.

We back up first, always

Before anything is touched we take a full backup and keep it for 30 days. If a fix goes wrong, we put the site back exactly as it was.

If it is not what you bought

If the problem turns out smaller than what you ordered, we refund the difference. If it is bigger, we stop and send a quote before doing any extra work.

If we cannot fix it

You get back what we received. Diagnosis is on us — you only pay when the problem is actually solved. The payment processor takes its fee before the money reaches us, so we never hold it and it is not ours to return. That is true here as everywhere else.

If it comes back

Reply within seven days of delivery and we put it back on the bench at no cost. The fix is not finished until it holds.

What we are responsible for

If something goes wrong with a fix, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for it. We take a full backup first so mistakes can be undone, and we tell you before doing anything outside what you bought.
