We set up a report that generates and delivers automatically on a schedule — a weekly sales summary, a monthly content audit — and because it keeps running after we leave, the same ownership question applies as any persistent automation: someone needs to notice if the report simply stops arriving.
A report that stops arriving is easy to miss until someone asks for it
Unlike a script failure that might show a visible error somewhere, a scheduled report that quietly stops generating just means an empty inbox — nobody gets an error, the report just isn’t there. We’ll build in delivery confirmation where feasible, but noticing its absence over time is genuinely easier to overlook than most other kinds of automation failure, which is worth being aware of upfront.
Scheduled report generation setup
A report that generates and delivers on schedule — with a plain warning that its failure is easy to miss.
- Full backup taken before we start
- If we can’t fix it, you get your money back
- We never ask for your own password
What we need from you
- A clear spec of what the report should contain and its schedule
- Confirmation of who should receive it, and through what channel (email, a shared drive, Slack)
- Access to whatever data source the report draws from
This or something else?
| You want a report generated and delivered automatically on a recurring schedule | This fix covers it |
| You want a one-time report generated now, not an ongoing automated one | The relevant specific report product instead, depending on what you need reported on |
| You want the report data pulled from Search Console specifically | Search performance export & technical analysis, or the relevant Search Console category report |
| An existing scheduled report has stopped arriving | Worth describing the specific situation directly — likely a diagnostic fix rather than a fresh setup |
What we do
- Confirm the report’s content, format, and schedule
- Build the automated generation and delivery process
- Configure delivery confirmation where technically feasible
- Test the report’s first scheduled generation and delivery
- Verify the content is accurate and complete
- Provide written documentation covering ownership and what to do if it stops arriving
What is included
- An automated report generating and delivering on your specified schedule
- Delivery confirmation configured where feasible
- Verified accurate first delivery
- Written documentation on ownership and failure signs
Not included
- Ongoing, indefinite monitoring of continued delivery by us — that responsibility transfers to you
- Analysing or acting on the report’s contents — that’s your team’s ongoing task
- Fixing the report if the underlying data source changes its structure in future, unless engaged separately at that time
- Guaranteeing indefinite compatibility as your site or data sources evolve
Questions about this fix
How would I even notice if this stopped working?
This is genuinely one of the easier automation failures to miss, since there's no error, just an absent report — we'd document a way to periodically confirm it's still running, and building that check into someone's regular routine is worth taking seriously rather than assuming you'd notice naturally.
Who's responsible for reading and acting on this report once it arrives?
That's your team's ongoing responsibility — this fix builds and delivers the report reliably, but reviewing its contents and deciding what to do with that information isn't something included as a standing service.
What if the data source this report pulls from changes significantly?
That could break the report's generation, which would need a separate, follow-up fix at that time — a report built against a specific data structure doesn't automatically adapt to a fundamentally different one.
Can more than one person receive this report?
Yes, if you specify multiple recipients, we can configure delivery to reach everyone who needs it.
Will this report always look exactly the same, or can the format change over time?
It generates consistently to the format specified when built — if you want the format changed later, that's a small, separate update rather than something that happens automatically.

If this is the second time this year
A bad update breaking the site is a symptom of updates not being tested first. Care plans run every update on a staging clone before it reaches your live site, which is the actual fix for this happening again.
Your access, your rules
Create a separate admin account for us and delete it when we are done. For anything else, we get in touch and agree a method — never a form field on this site, never by reply to an email.
We back up first, always
Before anything is touched we take a full backup and keep it for 30 days. If a fix goes wrong, we put the site back exactly as it was.
If it is not what you bought
If the problem turns out smaller than what you ordered, we refund the difference. If it is bigger, we stop and send a quote before doing any extra work.
If we cannot fix it
You get back what we received. Diagnosis is on us — you only pay when the problem is actually solved. The payment processor takes its fee before the money reaches us, so we never hold it and it is not ours to return. That is true here as everywhere else.
If it comes back
Reply within seven days of delivery and we put it back on the bench at no cost. The fix is not finished until it holds.
What we are responsible for
If something goes wrong with a fix, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for it. We take a full backup first so mistakes can be undone, and we tell you before doing anything outside what you bought.
