We review and correct core WordPress settings — permalink structure, timezone, site title and tagline, and similar foundational configuration — that often get left at defaults or misconfigured during setup and never revisited, even though they affect everything from URL structure to how scheduled content actually publishes.
Permalink, timezone & core settings correction
Timezone, permalinks, and core settings corrected — foundational, easy to overlook.
- Full backup taken before we start
- If we can’t fix it, you get your money back
- We never ask for your own password
What we need from you
- Admin access to review current settings
- Confirmation of your correct timezone and any specific permalink preference
- Confirmation of any specific setting you already suspect is wrong
This or something else?
| You want core WordPress settings reviewed and corrected against what’s actually appropriate for your site | This fix covers it |
| You want a full URL slug standardisation project, not just core settings | Structured URL & slug standardisation, in the Content & Updates bucket, a related but larger scope |
| A specific setting is causing a known, active problem | Worth describing the specific symptom directly — likely a targeted diagnostic fix |
| You want wp-config.php itself reviewed, not the dashboard settings screens | wp-config.php hardening & cleanup, a different, more technical layer |
What we do
- Review core settings across the General, Reading, Writing, and Permalinks screens
- Correct timezone to match your actual location
- Confirm permalink structure is sensible and consistent
- Check and correct site title, tagline, and other basic identifying information
- Verify scheduled publishing works correctly with the corrected timezone
- Document what was found and corrected
What is included
- Core WordPress settings reviewed and corrected
- Verified correct timezone affecting scheduled content
- Sensible, confirmed permalink structure
- A written summary of what was found and corrected
Not included
- A full URL restructuring project beyond core settings correction, a separate, larger fix if genuinely needed
- wp-config.php-level configuration, a separate, more technical fix
- Fixing a specific, actively broken feature unrelated to these core settings
- Ongoing settings management as a standing service
Questions about this fix
Why would my timezone setting even matter?
An incorrect timezone can cause scheduled posts to publish at the wrong time, timestamps to display inaccurately, and any time-based logic on your site to behave unexpectedly, even though it's an easy setting to overlook entirely.
Is changing my permalink structure risky?
It can be, since a change affects every URL on your site — if we recommend a change as part of this review, we'd handle it with the appropriate redirect safety, treating that specifically as the more involved fix it actually is.
How would these settings have gotten wrong in the first place?
Often simply left at WordPress's defaults during initial setup and never revisited, or set correctly for a previous context (a different timezone, a different intended site title) that no longer applies.
Will this fix anything visible to my actual visitors?
Some corrections (permalink consistency, site title accuracy) are visible; others (timezone accuracy for scheduling) work behind the scenes but still matter for correct site behaviour.
Is this worth doing if my site seems to work fine otherwise?
Yes, reasonably — these are foundational settings that can cause subtle, easy-to-miss problems (a post scheduled to publish at the wrong time, for instance) even when the site looks fine on the surface.

If this is the second time this year
A bad update breaking the site is a symptom of updates not being tested first. Care plans run every update on a staging clone before it reaches your live site, which is the actual fix for this happening again.
Your access, your rules
Create a separate admin account for us and delete it when we are done. For anything else, we get in touch and agree a method — never a form field on this site, never by reply to an email.
We back up first, always
Before anything is touched we take a full backup and keep it for 30 days. If a fix goes wrong, we put the site back exactly as it was.
If it is not what you bought
If the problem turns out smaller than what you ordered, we refund the difference. If it is bigger, we stop and send a quote before doing any extra work.
If we cannot fix it
You get back what we received. Diagnosis is on us — you only pay when the problem is actually solved. The payment processor takes its fee before the money reaches us, so we never hold it and it is not ours to return. That is true here as everywhere else.
If it comes back
Reply within seven days of delivery and we put it back on the bench at no cost. The fix is not finished until it holds.
What we are responsible for
If something goes wrong with a fix, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for it. We take a full backup first so mistakes can be undone, and we tell you before doing anything outside what you bought.
