This report reviews your existing PHP error log and translates what’s actually in it into a clear, prioritised picture — which errors are significant, which are harmless noise, and what’s worth actually fixing — since raw error logs are often dense and hard to interpret without knowing what to look for.

What we need from you

  • Access to your existing PHP error log
  • Confirmation of the time period you’d like reviewed
  • Your preferred report format, if you have one

This or something else?

You have an existing error log and want it analysed and translated into a clear report This fix covers it
You don’t have error logging configured yet at all Error log configuration & rotation, the prerequisite step
You already know the specific error causing a problem and want it fixed directly The relevant specific diagnostic fix instead, once the error is identified
You want ongoing alerting for new errors, not a one-time analysis of existing logs Worth discussing — a monitoring-style setup rather than a point-in-time report

What we do

  1. Review the existing error log for the specified time period
  2. Categorise errors by type and genuine significance
  3. Distinguish harmless, expected notices from errors worth actually addressing
  4. Identify any recurring pattern suggesting a specific, fixable underlying cause
  5. Compile findings into a clear, prioritised written report
  6. Recommend next steps, with a quote for fixes if you want them

What is included

  • A thorough analysis of your existing error log
  • Errors categorised and prioritised by genuine significance
  • A clear, written report distinguishing real issues from noise
  • Recommendations for what’s worth fixing, with a quote if wanted

Not included

  • Fixing the identified errors — quoted separately based on findings
  • Configuring error logging itself, if that’s not already in place — a separate, prerequisite fix
  • Ongoing analysis as new errors accumulate — a separate, related report if you want this repeated
  • Guaranteeing every error in the log has an identifiable, fixable cause

Questions about this fix

Why can't I just read the error log myself?

You certainly can, though raw logs are often dense with technical detail and can include many harmless, expected notices alongside genuinely significant errors — this report specifically does the work of separating the two and prioritising what's actually worth your attention.

Will this fix the errors it finds?

Not automatically as part of the report — we quote separately for fixing whatever's identified as genuinely worth addressing, since the report itself is about understanding what's there before deciding what to act on.

How far back can this review go?

As far back as your existing log retains data — if your log rotation is aggressive, older errors may no longer be available to review, which is worth knowing before requesting a longer historical window than actually exists.

What if the log shows nothing significant at all?

That's a genuinely useful, if less dramatic, outcome — knowing your site isn't accumulating meaningful errors is valuable reassurance, and we'd report that honestly rather than manufacturing significance where there isn't any.

Should I get this done regularly, or just once?

A one-time review is useful for an initial health check; if you want ongoing visibility into new errors as they accumulate, that's a different kind of setup worth discussing separately.

Your access, your rules

Create a separate admin account for us and delete it when we are done. For anything else, we get in touch and agree a method — never a form field on this site, never by reply to an email.

We back up first, always

Before anything is touched we take a full backup and keep it for 30 days. If a fix goes wrong, we put the site back exactly as it was.

If it is not what you bought

If the problem turns out smaller than what you ordered, we refund the difference. If it is bigger, we stop and send a quote before doing any extra work.

If we cannot fix it

You get back what we received. Diagnosis is on us — you only pay when the problem is actually solved. The payment processor takes its fee before the money reaches us, so we never hold it and it is not ours to return. That is true here as everywhere else.

If it comes back

Reply within seven days of delivery and we put it back on the bench at no cost. The fix is not finished until it holds.

What we are responsible for

If something goes wrong with a fix, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for it. We take a full backup first so mistakes can be undone, and we tell you before doing anything outside what you bought.
