We configure your PayPal business account settings and IPN (Instant Payment Notification) so completed payments correctly confirm back to your site — through your own PayPal business account, using access you grant rather than your account password, since we configure the integration, not PayPal’s service itself.
PayPal business account & IPN configuration
PayPal and IPN configured through granted access — never your account password.
- Full backup taken before we start
- If we can’t fix it, you get your money back
- We never ask for your own password
What we need from you
- A PayPal business account, with access granted to us for configuration (PayPal supports adding limited-role access for exactly this)
- Confirmation of your WooCommerce or checkout setup that needs to connect to PayPal
- Confirmation of the currencies and payment options you want enabled
This or something else?
| You want your PayPal business account and IPN configured to work correctly with your site | This fix covers it |
| Payments are failing despite PayPal already being configured | Payment form integration errors, in the Forms & Integrations category, the diagnostic version of this |
| You want Stripe configured instead of, or alongside, PayPal | Stripe dashboard settings & webhook configuration |
| PayPal itself is reporting an account-level restriction or hold | Outside what we can fix — that’s between you and PayPal directly |
What we do
- Confirm the payment options and currencies needed for your business
- Configure PayPal business account settings accordingly
- Set up IPN correctly so completed payments confirm back to your site
- Test IPN delivery to confirm reliable confirmation of transactions
- Verify a complete test transaction processes and confirms correctly end to end
- Document the configuration for future reference
What is included
- PayPal business account settings configured for your specified payment options
- A correctly configured, tested IPN connection
- A verified end-to-end test transaction
- A written note on the configuration
Not included
- Creating your PayPal business account itself, if you don’t already have one — a separate, simple prerequisite step
- Resolving an account-level restriction, hold, or verification issue with PayPal directly — that’s between you and PayPal
- Broader payment form integration debugging, a separate, related fix if issues persist after this setup
- Ongoing management of your PayPal account as a standing service
Questions about this fix
Do you need my PayPal password?
No — we ask for the access genuinely needed to configure the integration, and where PayPal's account structure allows delegated or role-based access, we'd use that rather than your actual login credentials.
What if PayPal places a hold or restriction on my account?
That's an account-level matter between you and PayPal directly — we can't resolve a hold or restriction, since that's entirely within PayPal's own control, not something a configuration fix touches.
Could this same kind of issue come back after PayPal changes something on their end?
Yes, genuinely — a future update to PayPal's own API or account requirements could require the configuration to be revisited, which is an inherent characteristic of depending on any third-party payment processor rather than a risk this setup eliminates permanently.
What's IPN actually for?
It's how PayPal confirms back to your site that a payment genuinely completed, which is what allows your site to correctly mark an order as paid — without it correctly configured, payments can complete on PayPal's side while your site never finds out.
Can I use this alongside another payment method like Stripe?
Yes, many WooCommerce stores offer more than one payment option — we'd configure PayPal specifically, and can also set up another gateway alongside it as a separate, related fix.

If this is the second time this year
A bad update breaking the site is a symptom of updates not being tested first. Care plans run every update on a staging clone before it reaches your live site, which is the actual fix for this happening again.
Your access, your rules
Create a separate admin account for us and delete it when we are done. For anything else, we get in touch and agree a method — never a form field on this site, never by reply to an email.
We back up first, always
Before anything is touched we take a full backup and keep it for 30 days. If a fix goes wrong, we put the site back exactly as it was.
If it is not what you bought
If the problem turns out smaller than what you ordered, we refund the difference. If it is bigger, we stop and send a quote before doing any extra work.
If we cannot fix it
You get back what we received. Diagnosis is on us — you only pay when the problem is actually solved. The payment processor takes its fee before the money reaches us, so we never hold it and it is not ours to return. That is true here as everywhere else.
If it comes back
Reply within seven days of delivery and we put it back on the bench at no cost. The fix is not finished until it holds.
What we are responsible for
If something goes wrong with a fix, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for it. We take a full backup first so mistakes can be undone, and we tell you before doing anything outside what you bought.
